Information
Introduction
The University of Tulsa has assigned each student, faculty, and staff
a user name that provides access to various University computer services.
Several of these services include:
- myTU (i.e., web-based e-mail, login services)
- E-mail
- Login to Utulsa Domain
- Off-campus computer access (i.e., dial-up)
- Personal disk space including personal web pages
- WebCT (i.e., web-based course access)
- WebAdvisor
To access various systems you must know your user name and the password
associated with your user name.
User Name
Your user name most often has this structure: firstname-lastname (i.e.
john-doe). Some user names differ from this structure. You can verify your user
name from the Campus Search on the University home page or the directory in
myTU.
- Now you need to type in your first or last name or both if it’s a
common name.
- The listing will show all possible matches for the entered name. It will
show the full name, phone number and email address. Your user name is what
appears before the @ in the email address. Example: if your e-mail is displayed
as john-doe@utulsa.edu then your user name is john-doe
- Your user name is case-sensitive. Use all lower case letters, (hint: if
you have trouble, verify that the caps lock is not on).
Your initial password for your user name is generated when your login
is created. You should receive an e-mail when your user account is created indicating
your password if you have an internet e-mail address on file. If you do not
know your initial password contact the IS Computer Help Desk to receive information
on your initial password. Help Desk: 918-631-3500 or help@utulsa.edu
.
In order to log in to campus lab machines using Utulsa, you must have
already changed your password.
Password Management
Security of these services is quite important. The best way to manage
security to your services is to manage your passwords regularly.
